Northwestern Mutual Foundation- Minneapolis

Ian has been an active member of the Northwestern Mutual Foundation-Minneapolis since 2009. The foundation works to enhance the efforts of the individuals within Northwestern Mutual in serving their local communities throughout Minnesota. Ian is currently the president and provides oversight on donations to local charities. He also manages the portfolio investments and gives guidance to the board with respect to which direction the foundation should go in. Since Ian has been active, the NM Foundation has given over $500,000 to all types of charities.

River Valley Church

Ian and his wife Mary are active volunteers at River Valley Church. They are on the Advisory Board for the Edina Area Campus – current attendance of over 1,000 people weekly. They teach membership classes, leads small groups, and are part of the marriage mentorship program. Ian is also a mentor to young business leaders and runs a men's bible study for business professionals that continues to grow. In the past two and half years of involvement with their church, Ian and Mary have helped their campus grow from 46 to over 1,000 people. They work closely with church leadership to coordinate large community events and are currently working towards a massive building project.

Leukemia Society

LLS is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer and funds lifesaving research around the world. It also provides free information and support services. Ian has been involved in different aspects of LLS for the past 8 years which is when a family member had been diagnosed with Leukemia. He was on the board for a charity golf tournament for 5 years which has cumulatively raised over $600,000 for LLS and participated in several of the annual Gala's to support the cause.
